I’m Iphis Aire

I studied craft with a focus on ceramics at The Evergreen State College in Olympia. With nearly a decade devoted to pottery, I established and operated my independent studio in Denver for four years. During this time, I not only wholesaled planters and wares but also curated an art show featuring the work of 18 trans artists—an initiative deeply meaningful to me, as it fostered inclusivity within the arts community.

My creative passion lies in hand-built sculptures and wares, though I find joy in exploring a variety of building and making techniques. As an instructor, I teach with a thoughtful approach with a deep understanding the behavior of clay and using this knowledge as the foundation of my craft. My goal is to share this understanding with my students, nurturing their curiosity and guiding them to discover their unique artistic voice through clay. Currently, I reside in Seattle, WA.

Nature, the inherent versatility of clay, and the human form are my primary sources of inspiration. These influences merge in my work, infusing it with a deep sense of organic beauty and personal expression.
